The conference calls are telephone calls in which the calling person wants to communicate with more than one person. In simple words, if three or more are talking together via any medium audio, video or internet then it is considered as a conference call. The conference call may be designed to allow the called party to also talk during the call, or the call may be set up so that the called party merely listens into the call but cannot speak. Some conference calls are set up where the calling party calls the other participants and adds them to the call, and in some cases the other participants call into the conference call, either by dialing into a "conference bridge", a specialized type of telephone that answers multiple calls, or by using a special telephone number set up for that purpose.

There are a number of agencies and companies who provide conference calls hosting, and conference calls technology. A company may need these services since they are cheaper and efficient and an alternative for conferences that cost a lot to hold. The call conference calls center is also ideal for companies with overseas partners or branches who need fast ways to communicate.

As anyone who's ever been to an office job before, knows that communication is of great importance. Sharing and distribution of information is the key of success. And those employees who are out of the town can greatly benefit from conference calls. They are also useful because they increase accountability. Other aspect of conference calls is the fact that you can keep in touch with your clients who are too far away.

For all these reasons, and more, conference calls can be exceedingly useful.

In the past, conference calls could be made through a telecommunication company who offered this service for a fee. Today, conference calls could be hosted using the internet and thus save costs on a phone bill. There is also a possibility video conferencing where you can use a video camera to sell a product, perform a product demonstration or even conduct a seminar.

Conference calls are used by nearly all United States public corporations to report their quarterly results, usually also allowing questions from stock analysts. These are called earnings calls.

Conference calls can be used for entertainment or for social purposes, such as the party line. People call in to a specified telephone number which allows them to talk to others, serving as a way to talk to and perhaps subsequently meet new people.

We have different types of conference calls - through a telephone line, or through internet where audio and/or video calls can be made.

Web conferencing is when two or more users who are all connected to the Internet share information. These technological advances have tremendous impact on our economy, environment and our lives. The Web Conference Calls technology is strengthening the tendency to allow employees to work from home, and in the future to cut on commuting, save time and money, Web Conference Calls is taking advantage of the Internet's two most notable qualities of sharing information and connecting people from around the globe. The internet has made possible several marvelous technologies that enhance our lives in many ways. One very useful technology that has been gaining ground recently is video conferencing over the internet. Video conferencing essentially allows a group of individuals anywhere around the world who have internet access to be able to hold a simultaneous meeting together without having to physically meet one another in any specific location.

While you are making conference calls there is also etiquette. First of all make sure you are in a quiet location where you will not be disturbed. There are several things you should pay attention to:

1. Use appropriate equipment. Be sure to TEST the working condition of your equipment before an important conference call!

2. Be on time or early!

3. Introduce yourself when you begin speaking. Others may not know your voice!

4. Try to stay on schedule. Stick to the minutes per topic laid out in your agenda, and be respectful of others' time!

5. End the call clearly. Make sure all the participants know that that meeting is formally over.

Now I am going to mention some advices on how to improve your presentation skills. First of all be sure to start strong.

Begin your conference call with an enthusiastic greeting. The impression you make in the first 5 seconds of a conference determines how receptive and attentive your audience will be. Then try to stay focused and keep your presentation structured. Keep an eye on the length of your conference calls, and be considerate of others' time. Be clear when your presentation is ending. Recap the highlights of the meeting, clearly restate any goals or expectations you have for them, and formally end the meeting.
